Data Kasobask handles
- your IP address, and the rough region (city or state level) it points to;
- the user agent string describing your browser and device;
- which review chapters you open and which outbound buttons you press, where analytics is allowed;
- anything you put into an email to us: typically a name, an address and your note.
Purposes behind each use
Kasobask uses this data to deliver pages and fend off abuse; to see, in pooled form, which chapters readers find helpful (analytics, only once you agree); to let booking partners recognise referrals from Kasobask (marketing, only once you agree); and to reply when you write.
Legally we rely on your consent for the two optional cookie groups, on a legitimate interest in a working and secure site, and on your own request whenever you email us.
Recipients outside JRSK, Inc.
Web hosts and measurement services acting on our instructions, plus affiliate and partner networks that log referrals once advertising cookies are switched on. Kasobask does not sell reader lists. A Global Privacy Control signal keeps referral cookies switched off.
Kasobask and the GDPR
Where the GDPR protects you (EEA, UK), ask Kasobask for a copy of what it holds about you, for corrections, for erasure, for a pause on processing or a portable export, and object to uses resting on legitimate interest. Consent you gave can be withdrawn at any moment, and your national data regulator will hear complaints about us.
Kasobask and California law (CCPA/CPRA)
Californians may ask Kasobask which categories of personal information it keeps and for what reason, and may have that information deleted or corrected. You may also stop us selling or sharing it for cross-context behavioural advertising; pressing the Kasobask “Reject All” button does exactly that, as does a browser emitting Global Privacy Control. Exercising a right earns no worse treatment.
How long Kasobask holds things
Access logs on the Kasobask servers vanish once a short security window closes. Measurement data survives only as combined totals. Email threads are kept while live and for a modest period afterwards. Your cookie answer sits in your own browser for up to twelve months.
Children and Kasobask
Kasobask is written for adult travellers. Should someone under 18 have emailed us, a parent or the young person can ask, and that correspondence will be erased.
